Saturday Sports
If you want a good laugh, go to The Daily Sports Poem, which transforms recent sports events into short, witty lyrics. (I shared a couple of the blog’s Wimbledon poems here.) Haiku Examining the End of the 2013 MLB Regular Season
Pennant races won,
Season creaks to thrill-free end.
Wake me for Playoffs.
Carolina Panthers 38, NY Giants 0: The Repercussions
New York fans can be demanding,
Two Super Bowl titles, notwithstanding.
Coach Cough
Will soon be off.
Ohio State 76, Florida A&M 0: A Review in Verse
College sports as anaesthetic.
Schedule-padding beyond pathetic.
How could this mismatch have been allowed?
The NCAA must be so proud.
The Mariano Rivera Farewell Tour
Tributes and gifts for the near retiree.
Short-term nostalgia is so MLB.
Why Floyd Mayweather Is Not an All-Time Great Champion
Mayweather outclassed Alvarez
Entirely as expected.
But a man who rolls with Bieber
Can never be respected.
Alabama 49, Texas A&M 42: A Review in Verse
The A&M Aggies can hold their heads high.
They gave the impossible a hell of a try.
The Tide offence was overwhelming,
But they couldn’t stop Johnny from the usual Manzielming.
